London’s psychedelic ensemble Volleyball return the forefront of emerging indie talent with their nostalgic dream-pop gem “Aloosh.” An atmospheric delight with washed-out synths and hazy melodies, “Aloosh” is a starry-eyed phantasm of sound and space. Stitched together with punchy drums, waterfall guitar licks, and drifting vocals, this genre-opaque cut is a woozy oasis. Likened to the sounds of Kevin Parker and Ariel Pink, Volleyball’s sound fits in squarely with the most recognized names in contemporary psych pop and rock. Speaking on the track Volleball says “‘Aloosh’ means ‘from the sky’; we love how that image captures the transitory nature of memories and places, how they can be important in your life, disappearing without you noticing and reappearing when you least expect them. Memories that seem far away can be recalled easily through music.”
